Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) &
Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT)
Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a manual treatment consisting of specific, gentle, rhythmic techniques designed to stimulate the lymphatic system and decrease swelling. It is beneficial in many conditions involving congestion or swelling, including recent injuries. It promotes healing after injuries by reducing the inflammation amongst the damaged tissues.
Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) is a combination of MLD, compression bandaging, skin care, and remedial exercise therapy; and is designed for people with lymphedema. Lymphedema may be a result of cancer treatment with lymph node removal.
