About Us

Whitney Gilliland BA, R.M.T.

Whitney GillilandWhitney Gilliland is a registered massage therapist with the Massage Therapists’ Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS) and the College of Massage Therapists’ of Ontario (CMTO). She completed her diploma of massage therapy at Bedford’s Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2007 after completing her Bachelor of Arts at St. Francis Xavier University.

Whitney has worked for nearly three years in the HRM, taking a special interest in repetitive strain injuries and postural concerns. Such conditions may include migraines, tension headaches, whiplash, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, tendonitis (ie: ‘Golfer’s Elbow’ or ‘Tennis Elbow’), and TMJ Dysfunction.

Whitney uses traditional Swedish massage techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, and stretch and joint mobilization techniques. She often tailors her therapeutic approach to the context of a firm relaxation massage and encourages home-care to prolong the benefits of massage.

Spending her spare time on sewing, baking, reading, playing guitar and practicing yoga, Whitney is all too aware of how a simple muscular tension can prevent you from truly enjoying what you love most. She believes it is possible to live the life you love, comfortably. Massage can help!

Whitney is so excited to be part of the Be. Massage Therapy team. Stop by or call to book your appointment, and stay well!
